The "16th National Canoe Championships hosted by the Seoul Olympic Memorial National Sports Promotion Corporation" held its opening ceremony on the 23rd and has entered a three-day competition schedule. The venue is the Misa Regatta Park Canoe Stadium.
This competition, hosted by the Seoul Olympic Memorial National Sports Promotion Corporation (Chairman Ha Hyung-ju) and organized by the Korea Canoe Federation, involves fierce competition among 87 teams from high school, college, and general divisions, with 331 athletes and 10 teams with 50 participants.
The opening ceremony held on the 23rd was attended by Ha Hyung-ju, Chairman of the Seoul Olympic National Sports Promotion Corporation, Lee Haeng-sook, President of the Korea Canoe Federation, and Lee Seong-cheol, Director of the Cycling and Boat Racing Headquarters, who encouraged the leaders and teams participating in the competition.
Chairman Ha Hyung-ju noted through his speech, "I am honored to hold the competition at the Misa Regatta Park Canoe Stadium, a legacy of the 1988 Seoul Olympics. I will continue to show enduring interest and support for the development of water sports, including boat racing and canoeing."
Meanwhile, the Seoul Olympic Memorial National Sports Promotion Corporation operates a canoe team led by Coach Kim Dong-soo, and seven athletes, including Kim Yi-yeol, Choi Min-kyu, and Lee Dong-hee, participated in this competition.
