There is a player who is the owner of two clubs but is still active in his professional career. He is still in his 20s.
The British outlet 'Talksport' reported on the 22nd (Korean time) that Moussa Dembélé (29, Al Ettifaq), a striker who played for Celtic and Lyon, has recently become the new owner of FK Minija, a club in Lithuania's second division.
This club acquisition by Dembélé was made through his investment group, Triple M, which already owns the Malian club AS Mané, making Dembélé the owner of two clubs.
Nevertheless, Dembélé's playing career continues. Currently playing for Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League, Dembélé has recorded 7 goals and 4 assists in 19 league matches. However, he has been sidelined for the season due to an Achilles tendon rupture sustained in a match last February.
Dembélé, who is from France, made his debut in 2013 with Fulham. He participated in a Premier League away match against West Ham United at the age of 17. In the 2015-2016 Championship season, he scored 15 goals in 43 matches.
Dembélé transferred to Celtic in June 2016, led by coach Brendan Rodgers, and joined Al Ettifaq in the summer of 2023 after stints with Lyon and Atlético Madrid (on loan).
Notably, Dembélé made a significant impact in his debut season with Celtic (2016-2017), scoring 32 goals and providing 9 assists in 49 matches. At that time, Celtic achieved a treble. In the following season, he also contributed to Celtic's second consecutive treble by scoring 16 goals in 39 matches before departing for Lyon in the summer of 2018.
In the 2020-2021 season, Dembélé went on a half-season loan to Atlético Madrid in January and scored 21 goals in 30 matches during the 2021-2022 Ligue 1 season.
Dembélé is reported to be receiving an annual salary of 3.5 million euros (approximately 5.7 billion won) at Al Ettifaq. Al Ettifaq is the team where Lee Won-young played in 2011, and Jordan Henderson (Ajax) wore the uniform from 2023 to 2024.
