Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance moved in the free agency market and recruited Song Myung-geun. They also retained two internal free agents.

The Daejeon Samsung Fire Bluefangs volleyball team announced on the 18th that it has signed a contract with free agent Song Myung-geun (32). The contract period is 2 years, and the maximum aggregate is 900 million won (annual salary of 420 million won, option of 30 million won).

Song Myung-geun joined Rush and Cash as the 4th pick in the first round in 2013, contributing to two championship wins. He is an outside hitter with an impressive attacking rate of 53% over 11 years and abundant experience. Last season, he played 31 games and 73 sets with Woori Card, recording an attacking success rate of 55%.

Additionally, the Samsung Fire Bluefangs have completed contracts with internal free agents Lee Ho-geun (29) and Jo Kuk-ki (36). Lee Ho-geun's contract period is 1 year, with a total aggregate of 220 million won (annual salary of 200 million won, option of 20 million won), while Jo Kuk-ki's contract period is also 1 year, with a total aggregate of 140 million won (annual salary of 100 million won, option of 40 million won).

A representative from the Samsung Fire Bluefangs stated, "With the free agency recruitment of Song Myung-geun, we expect to strengthen the team's attack power, and by re-signing Lee Ho-geun and Jo Kuk-ki, who performed as starting setter and libero last season, we were able to minimize power leakage."

Meanwhile, Lee Ho-geun is scheduled to enlist in the military in May and will join the team after being discharged in November 2026.
