A sudden fall death after a quarrel with his brother. Authorities have launched an investigation into the unexpected death of a foreign soccer player in China.

On the 16th (Korean time), 'Zhibo.com' stated, "Aaron Bupenza (28), the top scorer of the 2020-2021 Süper Lig and a foreign forward playing for Zhejiang FC, died after falling at his home in China." It added, "The local police are focusing on the fact that Bupenza's brother was present at the time of the incident and are viewing the case with suspicion."

Bupenza became the top scorer of the 2020-2021 Süper Lig while playing for Hatayspor in Turkey, and after that, he transferred to the Chinese Super League last year after playing in the Qatari league. His sudden tragic end has shocked fans and teammates as he built a career across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Bupenza, who holds Gabonese nationality, consistently played in Europe, including clubs like Bordeaux in France, Po, Ajaccio, and Portugal's Feirense. Notably, he scored 22 goals in 36 matches for Hatayspor in the 2020-2021 Süper Lig, earning him the title of top scorer. He was rumored to be transferring to Atalanta or Sassuolo in Italy, but he passed through the Middle East and the United States.

After playing for Al-Arabi, Al-Shabab in Qatar, and FC Cincinnati in the United States, he signed with Rapid Bucharest and then made a contract with Zhejiang FC until 2026. After joining Zhejiang, he recorded 4 goals and 2 assists in 6 league matches and was on an upward trajectory when an unexpected death occurred, causing significant shock.

Bupenza fell from the 11th floor of his apartment and died at the scene. According to club officials, Bupenza had not reported any issues before missing team training and had subsequently lost contact. The club was reportedly informed of his death through the police.

Chinese investigative authorities, who are uncovering the shocking details of his death, have reportedly kept various possibilities open. They are currently focusing on three main scenarios: the first is suicide, the second is an accidental fall, and the last is the possibility of homicide resulting from a violent argument with his brother.

Particularly, as it has been revealed that he and his brother had a violent argument just before Bupenza's death, law enforcement is concentrating on the third possibility.

'Zhibo.com' reported, "The police have begun to investigate Bupenza's brother. The authorities stated, 'Suspicious circumstances were found at the scene, and witness interviews regarding the related individuals are currently ongoing.'"

Meanwhile, Zhejiang FC expressed their deep sadness over the sudden news, stating, "We pray for Bupenza's soul."
