KT Wiz achieved a successful revenge.

KT won 3-0 against the Kia Tigers in the 2025 Shinhan Bank SOL Bank KBO League at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 16th. Starting pitcher Oh Won-seok delivered a fine performance with 1 hit allowed and no earned runs, and the bullpen also did not allow any runs. Kang Baek-ho hit a lead-off solo home run, and Bae Jong-dae contributed a 1-RBI double. They exacted revenge for the previous day's 0-1 loss, notching their 10th win of the season (8 losses, 1 tie).

Before the game, KT manager Lee Kang-chul noted, "James Neale from yesterday and the pitcher who is throwing today seems to be the best among the Kia starters," while keeping an eye on Kim Do-hyun, who boasts an earned run average of 1.56. However, KT's starting pitcher Oh Won-seok had a rather dazzling day. Showing off his formidable pitching, he threw a no-hitter. Early on, KT's lineup successfully attacked Kim Do-hyun and took the lead.

In the top of the 2nd inning, they targeted Kim Do-hyun. Lead-off hitter Kang Baek-ho pulled a slightly high 145km fastball from Kim Do-hyun for a solo home run that sailed over the right field wall. With two outs and a runner on first, Bae Jong-dae smashed a double into deep right-center, adding another run to make it 2-0 for a pleasant start.

Afterwards, KT's lineup was stifled by Kim Do-hyun's pitching and failed to score additional runs. Kia was left disappointed in the 1st inning. Lead-off hitter Park Chan-ho drew a walk. The next batter, Oh Seon-woo, struck out swinging on a full count, and Park Chan-ho, running to second base, was tagged out while returning to first base. From that point on, Oh Won-seok's pitching heated up. He only allowed two walks and threw a no-hitter until the 5th inning.

In the bottom of the 6th, Kia lead-off hitter Kim Tae-kyun reached first base due to a throwing error by the third baseman and was advanced to second with a sacrifice bunt. Park Chan-ho's well-hit ball was caught by the first baseman. With two outs, Lee Woo-sung earned a walk, creating a 1st and 2nd base opportunity, but Na Sung-bum grounded out to second base, ending the no-hitter. Ultimately, lead-off hitter Choi Hyung-woo ended the humiliation with a single to right field in the bottom of the 7th. However, the offense in the 7th also went scoreless.

KT added a valuable run in the 8th inning. With one out and the bases loaded, a short fly ball from Jang Seong-woo to the left field allowed the runner on third, Heo Gyeong-min, to dash home. Kia's left fielder Lee Woo-sung's catching posture and shortstop Park Chan-ho's relay throw were inaccurate, resulting in a run scored. KT, making a bold base running choice, erupted in cheers, while Kia was left disappointed in their defense.

Oh Won-seok was dazzling. He pitched 6 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 2 walks, and striking out 6 batters without allowing any earned runs. It was his best performance of the season. To maintain their 2-0 lead, KT activated the bullpen. In the bottom of the 7th with no outs and a runner on first, Woo Gyu-min easily recorded two outs, and Kim Min-soo continued the momentum, maintaining the no-hitter until the end of the 8th. In the 9th, closer Park Young-hyun entered and easily retired three batters to secure the revenge.

Kim Do-hyun allowed 2 earned runs in the 2nd inning but kept the rest of the innings scoreless. He threw 91 pitches through the 6th inning, allowing 4 hits (1 home run), 1 walk, striking out 2 batters, and allowing 2 earned runs (2 unearned). However, he couldn't get a single hit from the lineup until he was removed, resulting in another loss for his first win. Instead, he had to settle for his third quality start of the season.
