Samsung Lions catcher Kang Min-ho was substituted with a minor injury after a collision at home.
The game between Samsung and LG took place at Jamsil Stadium on the 16th.
It was LG's turn to bat in the bottom of the fourth inning, leading 3-2. The lead-off batter Moon Sung-joo walked, and then Park Dong-won hit a single to center field, resulting in runners on first and second with no outs. LG attempted a sacrifice bunt. Park Hae-min successfully executed a sacrifice bunt, advancing the runners to second and third with one out.
The Samsung infield moved in. Shin Min-jae's hit was a ground ball to the second baseman, Ahn Joo-hyung, who fielded it and threw to home. However, the throw was slightly high and went wide to the left of the catcher. Kang Min-ho attempted to catch the ball, but his left foot collided with the sliding third base runner Moon Sung-joo.
Kang Min-ho collapsed and was unable to get up for a while. The training coach came out to examine Kang Min-ho's condition, and he was eventually substituted. Lee Byung-hun took his place.
A Samsung official noted, "Kang Min-ho is currently receiving ice treatment on his left ankle. We will monitor his condition after icing treatment and consider a hospital evaluation."
Meanwhile, Samsung scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but starting pitcher Choi Won-tae could not complete four innings, yielding six runs and was replaced. As of the fourth inning, they are trailing 2-6.
