The professional baseball LG Twins set another record after 11 years. Team no-hitter, no-run. LG, which achieved the first team no-hitter no-run record in KBO in 2014, succeeded in setting another great record this year.

On the 15th, LG won 3-0 against Samsung in a home game held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul. Four pitchers took the mound, allowing no hits and achieving the fourth team no-hitter no-run in history.

The team no-hitter no-run was first recorded by LG on Oct. 6, 2014, with a 1-0 victory against NC at Jamsil. Shin Jung-rak (7⅓ innings), Yoo Won-sang (1⅓ innings), and Shin Jae-woong (⅓ inning) pitched in succession. On April 2, 2022, SSG recorded a team no-hitter no-run in the opening game against NC in Changwon, winning 4-0. Font achieved a perfect 9 innings, but the game went into extra innings with a score of 0-0, and Kim Tae-hyung (1 inning) finished the game in the 10th inning. On Aug. 6, 2023, Lotte achieved a team no-hitter no-run with a 1-0 victory against SSG at Sajik Stadium. Wilkerson (7 innings), Gu Seung-min (1 inning), and Kim Won-jung (1 inning) followed up with no hits.

On this day, starting pitcher Hernandez recorded 6 innings with no hits, 1 walk, 9 strikeouts, and no earned runs. The pitch count was low at 79, and he was replaced in the sixth inning for player protection due to tightness in his right thigh. In the 7th inning, leading 1-0, Kim Jin-seong pitched a perfect inning, followed by Park Myung-geun in the 8th inning, also pitching a perfect inning. LG extended the lead to 3-0 when Moon Sung-joo hit a two-run double with one out and runners on second and third base in the bottom of the 8th inning.

In the 9th inning, closer Jang Hyun-sik took the mound. After one out, he threw four balls after a strike on the first pitch against Lee Jae-hyun, resulting in a walk. The first pitch to Kim Sung-yoon was a ball. At that time, catcher Park Dong-won requested time from the umpire and went to the mound to talk with Jang Hyun-sik.

After the game, Park Dong-won said with a laugh, "I asked Hyun-sik, 'Are you okay?'" He lightened the tension with a light joke. Jang Hyun-sik replied, "I will pitch the way I normally do," and Park Dong-won suggested, "The fastball probably won't be a strike, so let's throw breaking balls." Depending on the condition of the day, certain types of pitches can work well, but that day, he judged that Jang Hyun-sik's fastball control was not good and called for breaking ball dominance.

Jang Hyun-sik walked Kim Sung-yoon but engaged in an 11-pitch battle against Ryu Ji-hyuk, mainly throwing forkballs. Park Dong-won said, "I kept telling him to throw breaking balls (forkballs)." On the 11th pitch, he ended the game with a ground ball double play to the second baseman, achieving the team no-hitter no-run.

Hernandez, who had been struggling in the previous two games, regained his 'El Dong-won' mode on this day. Park Dong-won laughed and said, "I told you Eli would pitch well" and continued, "Eli has found his balance again. Even if the Samsung lineup has been struggling recently, today Hernandez's pitch would have been hard to hit for any good batting team. The pitch was that good."

Park Dong-won said, "All of our pitchers felt good today. I'm grateful that the pitchers threw well. I think I need to take the score sheet home today," laughing heartily.
