The Manchester United (Man U) center-back responded with a biblical verse to football legends who gave him a harsh evaluation, garnering attention.

According to the British 'Daily Mail' on the 16th (Korean time), after losing 1-4 against Newcastle United, Manchester United defender Lenny Yoro (20) left a significant message on his social media (SNS).

Yoro wrote on his SNS, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God," quoting Philippians 4:6.

Yoro started in the league's 32nd round match against Newcastle on the 14th. However, he showed disappointing performance by conceding four goals. In particular, Yoro had unfortunate moments during the first goal (Sandro Tonali) and the second and third goals (both scored by Harvey Barnes).

In response, Arsenal and French legend Thierry Henry grants appeared on ESPN's 'Monday Night Football,' criticizing Yoro's actions during Barnes' second goal, saying, "It was a scene I had never seen before." The match footage showed Yoro looking at the assistant referee immediately after Barnes scored.

Henry noted, "Yoro isn’t even making a defensive move. The desire was on the Newcastle side. (Manchester United) simply doesn’t have the skills," adding, "That goal absolutely should not have gone in. I don’t understand why Yoro acted that way. What is he looking at? Is he looking at the assistant referee? Is he perhaps hoping to get saved by an offside?"

He also remarked, "He might have thought it was offside. But we all know that it was a goal. What on earth was he looking at? I really don’t know. I’ve never seen that kind of behavior."

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher also expressed disappointment, saying, "When Barnes took his first touch, there were two defenders in front of him. Two more were chasing from behind. Yet if I say that Barnes is going to control the ball and score, no one would believe it."

He continued, "It’s not something a 5-year-old would do, and such defense cannot be tolerated in a Premier League match. It doesn’t make sense to allow someone to dribble that long without any sanction and score."

Meanwhile, Yoro transferred to Manchester United from Real Madrid for £52 million last summer. He struggled at the beginning of the season due to injuries but has since earned the trust of Coach Amorim and the fans, appearing in a total of 25 matches this season, including 17 in the Premier League.

He scored his first goal after joining Manchester United in a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals held away at Lyon, France last week, and is expected to play in the second leg at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Yoro joined Manchester United last summer from Lille OSC before the season, with a transfer fee of €70 million (approximately 113.3 billion won) and signed a 5+1 year contract. However, he underwent surgery for a foot injury sustained in preseason and began playing from the match against Arsenal in the league's 14th round.
