Foreign pitcher Hurado of the Samsung Lions is experiencing severe misfortune. He is the most unfortunate 'cry' pitcher in the early part of this season.

Hurado took the mound as the starting pitcher in the game against the LG Twins at the 2025 KBO League held at Seoul's Jamsil Stadium on the 15th, throwing 105 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 9 hits, issuing 1 walk, striking out 4, and allowing 1 earned run. Although he gave up many hits, he minimized the runs allowed.

However, the Samsung lineup managed only 1 hit, with 2 walks and 1 hit by pitch. Instead, Samsung became the 4th team in history to suffer a no-hit, no-run game.

Hurado focused primarily on direct confrontations using his fastball with a top velocity of 148 km/h (26 pitches) and a two-seam fastball at a top speed of 147 km/h (32 pitches). He threw 13 curves, 18 changeups, 9 cutters, and 7 sliders.

In the first inning, Hurado allowed an infield hit to the leadoff hitter, Hong Chang-ki, and a single to Kim Hyun-soo. He struck out Austin but allowed a single to Moon Bo-kyung, giving up the first score. At that moment, the right fielder caught a ball that dropped right in front of him, but the runner on second base was delayed in starting after seeing the ball caught. The right fielder threw the ball to second base instead of home, and the runner, despite the late start, was safe at home. Hurado finished the inning with a pop-up and a ground out with runners on first and second and one out.

After that, in the 4th inning with 1 out and a runner on first, he recorded a ground ball double play, and in the 5th inning with no outs and a runner on first, he also registered a ground ball double play. He managed to handle a crisis in the 6th inning with 2 outs and runners on first and second. He was responsible for the 7th inning but yet again failed to record a win despite pitching well. He ended up losing the game, having allowed only 1 run.

Hurado's record stands at 1 win, 3 losses, and an earned run average (ERA) of 2.38 over 5 games. He ranks 10th in the earned run average category. However, his 3 losses make him the pitcher with the most losses in the league. He shares the highest loss tally with KIA Yang Hyun-jong (ERA 6.64), Doosan Jack Logue (ERA 5.70), Lotte Barnes (ERA 6.33), Hanwha Eom Sang-baek (ERA 6.75), and Kiwoom Kim Yoon-ha (ERA 8.38). Hurado is the only one with a sub-3.00 earned run average, while the others are in the 5–8 ERA range.

Hurado recorded a quality start (6 or more innings pitched with 3 or fewer earned runs) in all 5 games. He also recorded 3 QS+ (7 or more innings pitched with 3 or fewer earned runs). He ranks first in the league with 5 quality starts and shares first place for QS+ with Hanwha Ponce.

Hurado became the winning pitcher in his first appearance on March 22 in the season opener against Daegu Kiwoom, pitching 6 innings, allowing 8 hits, striking out 5, and giving up 2 earned runs. However, on March 28 against Doosan in Jamsil, he pitched well with 8 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 walk, 11 strikeouts, and 2 earned runs, yet still ended up as the losing pitcher, as the Samsung lineup failed to score a single run, resulting in a complete game loss.

On the 3rd against KIA in Gwangju, he recorded a QS with 6 innings pitched, allowing 4 hits, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts but still became the losing pitcher. In the game against Daegu SSG on the 9th, despite 7 innings pitched, allowing 5 hits, striking out 8, and giving up only 1 earned run, he did not secure a win. He left the mound without a decision at a 1-1 tie.

And on the 15th against LG, he received a loss despite pitching 7 innings and allowing only 1 earned run. In the 3 games where he recorded QS+, he has 2 losses without a win. It is frustrating. Apart from the opening game where he secured a win, the total run support in the 4 games pitched has amounted to just 1 run.
