The Doosan Bears won decisively 9-2 against the LG Twins in the third game of the season held on May 13 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul for the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League.

Doosan recorded 8 wins and 11 losses for the season, escaping a four-game losing streak by defeating rival LG. After 17 losses, they have now won two consecutive games. Meanwhile, LG, which had its four-game winning streak interrupted, now stands at 14 wins and 3 losses.

The visiting team Doosan faced LG starter Son Joo-young, lining up Jeong Soo-bin (center fielder), Park Kye-beom (second baseman), Jake Cave (right fielder), Yang Eui-ji (designated hitter), Yang Seok-hwan (first baseman), Kang Seung-ho (second baseman), Kim Gi-yeon (catcher), Park Jun-young (shortstop), and Jo Soo-haeng (left fielder).

Doosan's Choo Jae-hyun, who held the fourth batter's position for the first time the previous day, was excluded from the first team roster after injuring his back during a diving catch. Jo Soo-haeng took over as left fielder.

Doosan did not stop there. In the top of the fourth inning, lead-off batter Park Jun-young hit a single to left, and Jo Soo-haeng, attempting a bunt, reached on a fielder's choice. An errant throw from the pitcher allowed both the runner on first and the batter to survive. Following this, a wild pitch created a situation with runners on second and third, where Jeong Soo-bin delivered a one-RBI hit to center, knocking Son Joo-young out of the game.

Doosan continued its attack, as Park Kye-beom's advancing hit set up a situation with one out and runners on second and third for Cave's three-run home run, providing a crucial lead. Cave watched the first pitch strike from Lee Ji-kang and connected on a high fastball (142 km) on the second pitch, hitting a 118-meter home run to left. This was his first home run in just 12 games in the KBO League.

After missing opportunities in the bottom of the second with two outs and runners on first and second, and in the bottom of the third with one out and runners on first and second, LG finally responded in the bottom of the fourth. After one out, pinch-hitter Lee Ju-heon received a hit by pitch, and Song Chan-ui hit a single to left, creating a two-out first-and-third opportunity where Koo Bon-hyuk hit an one-RBI single to center.

In the bottom of the fifth with two outs and no runners on, Moon Bo-kyung, Kim Hyun-soo, and Lee Ju-heon each walked consecutively, forcing Choi Seung-yong out of the game, as Moon Jeong-bin earned a forcing walk from the new pitcher Park Chi-guk, but that was as far as the pursuit went.

Doosan's batting line showed strength again in the top of the sixth. Lead-off batter Yang Eui-ji walked, Yang Seok-hwan hit a single, and Kim Gi-yeon walked, putting runners on every base with two outs. A wild pitch allowed runner Yang Eui-ji to cross home, and Jo Soo-haeng, at bat, hit a one-RBI insurance single to left.

Doosan starter Choi Seung-yong lasted 4⅔ innings, allowing 5 hits, 6 walks, 6 strikeouts, and 2 earned runs while throwing 100 pitches, unfortunately missing a decision with a 7-1 advantage while only one out away from a win. Following him were Park Chi-guk (⅓ inning with no earned runs), Choi Ji-kang (2 innings with no earned runs), Hong Min-kyu (1 inning with no earned runs), and Kim Taek-yeon (1 inning with no earned runs).

Doosan's three-game series against the NC Dinos in Changwon, scheduled for May 15-17, was canceled for safety inspections, giving them a four-day rest. They will face the KIA Tigers at home on May 18. LG, after a day off, will take on the Samsung Lions at home on May 15.
