The 'super-large trade newcomer' Choo Jae-hyun (Doosan Bears) has been excluded from the first team roster due to a back injury.
The Doosan Bears of the Korea Baseball Organization announced on the 13th that prior to the third game of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League against the LG Twins at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul, outfielder Choo Jae-hyun, pitcher Kim Yoo-seong, and Lee Byung-hun were removed, and pitchers Choi Joon-ho, infielder Kim Dong-jun, and outfielder Jeon Da-min were newly registered.
Ahead of the season, Choo Jae-hyun, who moved to Doosan from the Lotte Giants through a trade, has been put on the disabled list after recording a batting average of .243 with 1 home run and 3 RBIs in 11 games. He sustained a back injury during the outfield defense while starting as the left fielder in the fourth game against LG on the 12th.
Manager Lee Seung-yeop noted, "Choo Jae-hyun felt pain in his back while diving for a catch yesterday. He has a hospital examination scheduled for tomorrow. He already had a back injury, but it seems he received a strong shock while diving. We should know the condition after tomorrow's examination."
Regarding the removal of left-handed setup man Lee Byung-hun, he explained, "His balance is not good, and his confidence has dropped significantly. He needs a little adjustment before returning." Lee Byung-hun had missed ten days at the start of the season due to gastroenteritis and returned on the 4th, but has struggled with a 5.79 earned run average in 8 games with 1 hold.
Kim Yoo-seong, who suffered defeat the previous day, has been temporarily excluded to bolster the bullpen as the three-game series against the NC Dinos in Changwon from the 15th to the 17th has been canceled for safety inspections. Since Doosan plans to start ace Koh Eobin in the game against the KIA Tigers at Jamsil on the 18th, fifth starter Kim Yoo-seong is expected to pitch against the Kiwoom Heroes on the 23rd.
Manager Lee Seung-yeop said, "(Kim) Yoo-seong will come in to match the Kiwoom game since there are no games next week. The plan is to start the ace from the KIA game on Friday."
