A top-tier hitter, shining with a career total of 45 home runs in Major League Baseball, reported his first professional baseball home run after 12 games.
Jake Cave (Doosan Bears) started as the right fielder hitting third in the third game of the season against the LG Twins on July 13 at Seoul's Jamsil Stadium, and he reported his home run in his third at-bat.
Cave emerged in the top of the fourth inning with a 4-0 advantage, with one out and runners on second and third, and he launched a three-run home run against LG's Lee Ji-kang. After watching the first pitch strike, he connected with Lee Ji-kang's second pitch, a high fastball (142 km/h), resulting in a 118-meter left-field home run. This was his first home run after 12 games in the KBO League debut.
Doosan took a 7-0 lead over LG with Cave's home run. The end of a four-game losing streak seems in sight.
