Kia Tigers will hold Mudeungsan Day in collaboration with Mudeungsan National Park during their home game against KT on the 17th at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field.
Since 2023, Kia has signed a cooperation agreement with the Mudeungsan National Park Office and has been involved in various activities, including donating to the Mudeungsan protection fund and conducting environmental protection campaigns. This year, they continue meaningful events related to Mudeungsan, a symbol of their home ground.
Before the game, a "Kids Club Ecotourism Program" will be held for 20 children from the Tigers Kids Club. This program is part of an "Edu-Sports" initiative that has been organized in collaboration with Mudeungsan National Park, offering children opportunities to experience Mudeungsan and nature through indoor audiovisual education activities and outdoor treasure hunts.
In addition, a "Mudeungsan Protection Fund Donation Agreement Ceremony" will be held in conjunction with the team’s records. Through the agreement, pitchers Nail and Yoon Young-cheol will contribute 30,000 won for each strikeout and 500,000 won for each win, while infielders Byun Woo-hyuk and Kim Do-young will contribute 300,000 won for each home run and 200,000 won for each stolen base, donating the total amount to Mudeungsan National Park at the end of the season. The 13.9 million won raised by the Kia team last year was used for the maintenance of the Pyeongdu-me Wetlands project.
On that day, the team will wear special uniforms for Mudeungsan Day, which express the lush forest of Mudeungsan. The front of the uniform will feature the Tigers wordmark with the Mudeungsan Seoseokdae emblem and the character Dalkong from the National Park Service’s Mudeungsan otter campaign. Furthermore, during the game, they plan to promote the Mudeungsan protection campaign along with a scoreboard event and a photo contest titled "Photos of Champil Seen from Mudeungsan, and Mudeungsan Seen from Champil" through social media, offering various prizes.
The ceremonial first pitch to wish for victory will be delivered by Joo Dae-young, the commissioner of the National Park Service, while the ceremonial first hit will be performed by Kang Jae-gu, the head of the Mudeungsan National Park Office.
