The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) and Ulsan City (Mayor Kim Du-gyeom) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on April 11 (Friday) at Ulsan City Hall for the regular hosting of the KBO Education League aimed at the development of baseball and revitalization of the local economy.
This agreement includes major projects for the medium- to long-term development of the KBO League, including the hosting of an education league (Fall League) with KBO Futures League teams and overseas teams, as well as winter training for youth baseball teams and the operation of youth development programs. Additionally, it promotes mutual cooperation concerning joint utilization of baseball facilities and consulting, as well as expanding the number of professional baseball games held for the citizens of Ulsan.
Meanwhile, Ulsan City plans to actively cooperate in the Sustainable Development Project of Korean Baseball and to complete the expansion of baseball-related infrastructure, including the addition of over 6,000 spectator seats at Munsu Baseball Stadium and the construction of a youth hostel that can accommodate over 300 people by 2027.
The KBO plans to enhance the Ulsan-KBO Education League (Fall League) that has been underway since last year to continuously promote Ulsan City and attract various events, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
Mayor Kim Du-gyeom noted, “We will continue to work with the KBO on cooperative measures for the development of baseball and the region based on improving the baseball infrastructure in Ulsan.”
KBO President Heo Koo-yeon said, “I would like to express my gratitude to Mayor Kim Du-gyeom and the citizens of Ulsan for their efforts in the leap of Ulsan City as a baseball city with their passion and love for baseball, and I will do my best to cooperate with Ulsan City for the continuous development of Korean baseball.”
