Leroy Sané (29, Bayern Munich) and Bayern Munich both want each other. The transfer rumors surrounding Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham) have also ended.
German 'Sky Sports' reported exclusively on the 10th (Korean time) that "Bayern Munich has officially made a contract renewal offer to Leroy Sané."
Leroy Sané, born in 1996, was evaluated in the past as lacking defensive contribution, but he has gradually improved, currently demonstrating the most active defense among Bayern wingers. However, he has shown ongoing issues in key attacking abilities such as decisiveness, turnover, and judgment, resulting in inconsistent performances. Up until the current 2024-2025 season, he continues to show a tendency for erratic performance, leading to predictions that this could likely be his last season at Bayern due to the low likelihood of contract renewal.
As a result, some media outlets have speculated that Son Heung-min could take Sané's place at Bayern.
That is unlikely to happen. Sky Sports noted that "Bayern officially conveyed a contract renewal proposal to Sané," adding that "this German national team forward faces a situation where he must accept a pay cut for the renewal."
The media explained, "According to reports from Florian Plettenberg, Kerry How, and Torben Hofmann, Bayern Director General Max Eberl hopes that Sané will remain with the team and has also received agreement on this matter from the club's board of directors and the coaching committee."
Sky Sports reported that "Eberl has offered Sané an extension until 2028, and the current contract proposal from Bayern includes a fixed annual salary of €10 million (pre-tax, approximately 16.3 billion won). If additional allowances based on performance are added, it could rise to between €14 million and €16 million (approximately 22.9 billion to 26.2 billion won)."
Sané also wishes to remain at Bayern. The media stated, "Sané is reportedly receiving an annual salary of about €20 million (approximately 32.8 billion won), including bonuses. However, Sané prioritizes staying with the club and is willing to accept a pay cut."
The media added, "Premier League club Arsenal has expressed interest in Sané, but he still wishes to stay."
