On the upcoming 19th and 20th, the 2025 Korea-Thailand Women's Volleyball All-Star Super Match will be held at the Hwaseong Sports Complex.
The Korea Volleyball Association is continuously striving for globalization in the development of Korean volleyball and the expansion of professional volleyball, targeting 'Global KOVO' in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the V-League’s launch. Following last year's global super match between Korea and Italy, this year marks the hosting of the women's volleyball super match.
The women's volleyball All-Star Super Match, which started in Thailand in 2017 and was held alternating between the two countries until 2019, was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is set to resume this year after six years, with Team KOVO All-Stars led by head coach Kang Sung-hyung and Thailand All-Stars led by head coach Kiatipong Ratchatachiangkai competing against each other.
For this super match, the Korean All-Star player roster was assembled considering the regular season records of the Dodram 2024-2025 V-League and position balance. The team will feature a good mix of veteran players who represent the V-League and rising stars within their first five years of pro debut, aiming to showcase another level of fun and diverse gameplay.
The Korean All-Star roster includes captain Kang So-hwi (Korea Expressway Corporation), Lim Myung-ok (Korea Expressway Corporation), Yeom Hye-seon (Heungkuk), Park Jeong-ah (Pepper Savings Bank), Lee Da-hyun (Hyundai E&C), Kim Da-eun (Korea Expressway Corporation), Lee Seon-woo (Heungkuk), Park Sa-rang (Pepper Savings Bank), Kim Se-bin (Korea Expressway Corporation), and Jeong Yoon-joo (Heungkuk).
The Thailand All-Stars include Tanacha Suksot, who played for Korea Expressway Corporation for two seasons, as well as setter Nattani Chai-sen from Japan's PFU BlueCats and outside hitter Donphan Sinpho, who visited Korea for last year's KOVO Cup in Tongyeong.
Kang Sung-hyung, the head coach, noted, "I am happy to take the helm for an exchange event taking place after five years. I hope meaningful events continue to be held, and I will do my best to bring joy to volleyball fans."
Various events are also planned outside of the matches. On the day before the matches, the youth academy of Songsan Middle School and Suil Middle School will take place at the Hwaseong Sports Complex. Additionally, one hour before the matches on the 19th and 20th, cultural performances featuring girl group Brave Girls, male band Daybreak, trot singer Joo Ha, and Thai singer Amchutima will welcome fans.
