Korean Air's Jumbo Stars volleyball team officially announced on April 10 that it has appointed Brazilian head coach Renan Dal Zotto for the 2025-26 season.
Coach Renan is one of the iconic figures in Brazilian volleyball history, having been selected for the national team at a young age of 16, and as a key outside hitter for the Brazilian team until 1989, he significantly contributed in various international competitions, including the Olympics.
Since transforming into a coach, he has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in player development and team tactical management while serving as head coach for prominent Brazilian clubs like Cimed and Unisul, as well as for Sisley Treviso in Italy.
Additionally, from 2017 to 2023, he served as head coach of the Brazil men's national team, achieving remarkable milestones such as winning the World Cup in 2019, the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) championship in 2021, and securing a spot in the main draw of the 2023 Paris Olympics, continuing the tradition of Brazilian volleyball.
Korean Air's Jumbo Stars have successfully integrated advanced volleyball through the appointment of foreign coaches, and they look forward to a generational change and tactical enhancement with the recent hiring of Coach Renan.
Coach Renan will officially begin his tenure by participating in the 2025 foreign player tryouts held in Turkey in early May and will fully join the team starting in June when training commences, preparing intensively for the upcoming season.
A representative from Korean Air's Jumbo Stars noted, "Coach Renan is a widely recognized figure in the international volleyball community, and I am confident that his proven leadership will significantly contribute not only to the improvement of each player's skills but also to the long-term growth of the team."
