The professional baseball Kiwoom Heroes stopped the LG Twins' five-game winning streak.

Kiwoom won 4-0 in a game against LG at the 2025 KBO League held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 9th, escaping a recent three-game losing streak. Kiwoom's starting pitcher Rosenberg recorded 4 hits, 1 walk, and 13 strikeouts over 8 innings. Woo Seung-woo pitched in the 9th with no outs and runners on first and second base, earning a save.

The 13 strikeouts in one game is tied for the record for the most strikeouts by a foreign pitcher in a single game for Kiwoom, set last year by Hurado. The all-time record for the club is 14 strikeouts, set by Han Hyun-hee against KT at Mokdong on April 10, 2015. In the batting lineup, Song Sung-moon, Lee Joo-hyung, and Park Joo-hong hit home runs in succession.

LG's starting pitcher Hernandez allowed 3 home runs, taking the loss after pitching 5⅓ innings with 4 hits, 4 walks, and 4 strikeouts, yielding 4 runs. LG's record is now 11 wins and 2 losses with the loss following a 7-game winning streak and after a 4-game winning streak.

LG started Hong Chang-ki (right fielder), Shin Min-jae (second baseman), Austin (designated hitter), Moon Bo-kyung (third baseman), Park Dong-won (catcher), Song Chan-eui (left fielder), Moon Jung-bin (first baseman), Koo Bon-hyeok (shortstop), and Choi Won-young (center fielder) against Kiwoom's left-handed starter Rosenberg. Regular left-handed batters Kim Hyun-soo, Oh Ji-hwan, and Park Hae-min were excluded from the starting lineup, resulting in 6 right-handed batters being deployed.

Kiwoom's starting pitcher Rosenberg maintained perfect pitching through the 5th inning with 55 pitches. After two outs in the 6th, a hit by Choi Won-young went unfielded by the first and second basemen, falling into fair territory for a hit, ending the perfect game with a double.

In the 6th inning, leadoff hitter Lee Joo-hyung walked to reach base. Choi Joo-hwan's hit struck the right field fence for a double; the right fielder attempted a jumping catch but could not secure the ball. With no outs and runners on second and third base, Park Joo-hong's sacrifice fly to left fielder added another run, making it 4-0.

With one out and a runner on second, Jeon Tae-hyun hit a ball into left center, but the left fielder's throw home resulted in the runner at second being tagged out at home. Kim Woong-bin walked to put runners on first and second with two outs, but Kim Jae-hyun's ground ball to shortstop ended the inning.

In the 8th inning, with one out, LG executed a pinch-hitting strategy with the 7th to 9th batters. Moon Seong-joo came in as a pinch hitter and faced Rosenberg's first pitch but popped out to left field. In the next at-bat, Oh Ji-hwan came in as a pinch hitter and reached base on a walk.

Kim Hyun-soo entered as a pinch hitter and maintained the 2 outs, runners on first and second base chance with a single to right field. Hong Chang-ki hit a ball that flew to the left field fence, but Puig sprinted back and barely made the catch.

Having thrown 96 pitches by the 8th inning, Rosenberg returned to the mound in the 9th. He was replaced after giving up consecutive hits to Shin Min-jae and Austin, putting runners on first and second with no outs. Closer Woo Seung-woo came in and got Moon Bo-kyung to pop out to center field for the first out. With one out and runners on first and third, Park Dong-won popped out to second base. Song Chan-eui made the final out, ending the game.
