The professional baseball LG Twins achieved their fourth consecutive victory by defeating the Kiwoom Heroes.
LG won 13-1 in the 2025 KBO League game against Kiwoom held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 8th. Starting pitcher Son Ju-young recorded his third win of the season with 5 hits allowed, 5 strikeouts, and 1 earned run over 7 innings. He is the sole leader in wins.

Kiwoom's starting lineup included Puig (left fielder), Lee Joo-hyung (center fielder), Choi Joo-hwan (first baseman), Jang Jae-young (right fielder), Song Sung-moon (second baseman), Yeo Dong-wook (third baseman), Kang Jin-seong (designated hitter), Oh Seon-jin (shortstop), and Kim Keon-hee (catcher).
Kiwoom changed its first team roster on the 8th. The previous day, Seo Yu-shin was removed from the first team, and that day, Cardenas and Lee Hyung-jong were excluded from the first team roster. Pitcher Park Joo-seong, outfield player Jang Jae-young, and infielder Yeo Dong-wook were called up to the first team. Cardenas left for the U.S. that day due to his wife's impending childbirth. He is expected to return on the 14th. Lee Hyung-jong sustained a minor shoulder injury while sliding into first base during the game on the 6th.
LG's lineup exploded early in the game. In the first inning, leadoff hitter Hong Chang-ki reached base with a single, and Shin Min-jae hit a single to left field. A strong ground ball from Austin was deflected by the third baseman and turned toward the shortstop, resulting in an error and loading the bases with no outs.
Moon Bo-kyung's timely single to left field put LG ahead 2-0. With runners on first and third and no outs, Oh Ji-hwan's sacrifice fly to center field added one more run.
LG demonstrated its focus by scoring 6 runs after 2 outs in the second inning. Kiwoom's starter Yoon Hyun suddenly struggled with his control after getting 2 outs. Park Hae-min, Hong Chang-ki, and Shin Min-jae reached base with three consecutive walks, loading the bases with 2 outs. Austin hit a single to left field, bringing in 2 runs.
With 2 outs and runners on first and second, Moon Bo-kyung's ball to left field was misplayed by Puig as he ran in to catch it, possibly due to the lights, failing to secure it at the last moment. The ball rolled to the fence, allowing both runners to score. The batter advanced to third base. It was recorded as a 1-RBI hit and an error on the left fielder. The score changed to 7-0.
With 2 outs and a runner on third, Oh Ji-hwan added another run with a single to right field, and following a walk by Kim Hyun-soo, Park Dong-won hit a single to center field, extending the lead to 9-0.

Leadoff hitter Park Hae-min reached base with a double to right-center field, and Hong Chang-ki advanced to third base with a ground ball to the shortstop. Shin Min-jae scored the 10th run with a ground ball to the shortstop.
LG starter Son Ju-young allowed the leadoff hitter Puig to reach base due to an error by the third baseman in the bottom of the first inning. He erased Lee Joo-hyung with a ground ball double play to second base. He retired Choi Joo-hwan with a ground ball to first base, ending the first inning without any runners.
In the second inning, he retired the leadoff hitter Jang Jae-young with a strikeout, ending the inning in order. In the third inning, he struck out Kang Jin-seong and Kim Keon-hee, once again ending the inning in order.
In the fourth inning, he allowed the first hit to Puig but struck out Lee Joo-hyung with three pitches and recorded an out with a fly ball to right field from Choi Joo-hwan. After a strikeout and a ground ball from the pitcher, there were 2 outs and a runner on second base. He allowed one run with a single to center field from Oh Seon-jin.

After one out, Kim Hyun-soo hit a solo home run over the right-center fence with a 144 km/h fastball from Jo Young-gun on the first pitch. The distance was 125 meters. This was Kim Hyun-soo's first home run of the season and the 250th of his career, marking the 23rd record in KBO history.
Following this, Park Dong-won pulled a fastball (145 km/h) from Jo Young-gun on the second pitch, sending it over the left field fence for a solo home run. The distance was 130 meters. LG surged ahead 12-1.
In the eighth inning with 2 outs, Moon Jeong-bin reached base on a hit by pitch, and with a single to right field by Moon Bo-kyung, the runners were on first and second. Oh Ji-hwan hit a ground ball that deflected off the first baseman's glove and rolled to the outfield behind the second baseman, bringing the runner from second base home. The score became 13-1.
In the eighth inning, against the new pitcher Baek Seung-hyun, Kang Jin-seong and Oh Seon-jin both walked, and Kim Keon-hee hit a single to center field, creating a bases-loaded opportunity with no outs.
