The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League has achieved a minimum of 1 million spectators.
KBO noted on the 6th, "The 2025 KBO League has reached 1 million spectators. Achieving 1 million spectators in just 60 games has set a new record for the fewest games to reach 1 million spectators in history."
On that day, a total of 96,135 spectators gathered at the five stadiums where KBO League games were held. At Seoul's Jamsil Stadium (LG-Doosan), there were 23,750 spectators (sellout), at Seoul's Gocheok Sky Dome (Kiwoom-NC) 7,041, at Daegu Samsung Lions Park (Samsung-Hanwha) 24,000 (sellout), at Busan Sajik Stadium (Lotte-Doosan) 22,665 (sellout), and at Incheon SSG Landers Field (SSG-KT) 18,679.
The KBO League recorded a total of 10,887,705 spectators last season, becoming the first in Korean professional sports history to surpass 10 million. Having achieved record-breaking popularity, the KBO League continues to enjoy great popularity this season. It achieved 1 million spectators with the fewest games in history.
The previous record for the fewest games to reach 1 million spectators was 65 games recorded in the 2012 season. In 2012, the last season with an 8-team system, the KBO League recorded a total of 7,156,157 spectators, with an average of 13,451 spectators. This year, it is on pace for a cumulative total of 1,059,308 spectators over 60 games, currently pacing at 12,711,696. The average attendance is reaching 17,656.
As the KBO League continues to thrive, attention is focused on whether it can once again break the all-time attendance record and write a new chapter in history.
