Seoul SK Knights will deliver the 5,000 kg of rice accumulated under the 'friendly cooperation exchange agreement' with Gangwon Province's Goseong County for the 2024-2025 season to the Yeongnam region, which has been declared a special disaster area due to wildfires.
The SK Knights have been accumulating 200 kg of Goseong rice for each victory this season with Director General Jeong Ji-tak, Head Coach Kim Gi-man, and players Kim Sun-hyung, Choi Bu-kyung, Oh Se-geun, Choi Won-hyuk, and Kim Hyung-bin from Gangwon Province's Goseong County. Out of the accumulated rice, 5,000 kg is scheduled to be delivered to four local governments, including Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province, Hadong County in South Gyeongsang Province, Andong City in North Gyeongsang Province, and Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province, through the international relief and development NGO 'Good People.'
Director General Jeong Ji-tak noted, "Initially, we planned to deliver the rice accumulated at the end of the season to socially vulnerable groups, but given the national disaster situation that occurred in March, we decided it would be more meaningful to assist the disaster victims in the Yeongnam region who are in difficult situations."
Additionally, Director General Jeong Ji-tak added, "I hope this can be of some help to the disaster victims who have suffered significant damage due to the wildfires, and in the future, the SK Knights will take the lead in creating a community that works together by operating various programs for socially vulnerable groups."
