This season's first team to reach 10 wins was LG, not the defending champion KIA.

The LG Twins, led by manager Yeom Kyung-yeop, won 5-1 against the KIA Tigers in the second game of the season held at Seoul's Jamsil Stadium in the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League.

LG, at the top of the league, is on a three-game winning streak and was the first among the 10 teams to reach the 10-win mark. The season record stands at 10 wins and 1 loss, with a win rate of .909.

Since winning the overall championship in the 2023 season, LG recorded 7 wins and 4 losses over 11 games after the opening. At that time, they also started the season in second place with a high win rate of .636 and are now experiencing an overwhelming performance with a terrifying upward momentum.

Starting pitcher ace Yoni Chirinos recorded 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, striking out 7 and allowing 1 run, earning his second win of the season (undefeated). Following him, Park Myung-keun (1 inning, no runs) and Jang Hyun-sik (1 inning, no runs) effectively secured the lead.

In the batting lineup, Hong Chang-ki went 3-for-1 with 3 RBIs, Shin Min-jae went 4-for-2, and Park Hae-min went 1-for-1 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored, leading to the 10th win. Hong Chang-ki became the hero of the game with a 2-RBI hit against KIA starter Adam Olber in the bottom of the second inning with 2 outs and the bases loaded.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yeop praised the mound after the game, saying, “Starting pitcher Chirinos showed ace-like pitching by mixing low-placed two-seam fastballs with sliders and forkballs. Afterwards, victory pitchers Park Myung-keun and Jang Hyun-sik took care of their innings cleanly, laying the groundwork for the win.”

He continued, “In the batting lineup, we were able to shift the overall flow of the game in our favor with Hong Chang-ki's 2 RBIs and Park Hae-min's bold base running. When additional runs were needed, Hong Chang-ki and Austin contributed more runs, allowing us to manage the game comfortably. Hong Chang-ki led the overall batting lineup with 3 RBIs, and I want to commend our players for showing concentration in today's game.”

Before the game, at 12:15 p.m., about 2 hours before the start (2 p.m.), all 23,750 seats were sold out. This marks LG's seventh consecutive sellout at home since the start of the season, with full house attendance recorded for the two opening games against the Lotte Giants on March 22-23, the mid-week series against Hanwha Eagles from the 25th-27th, and the home game against KIA on the 4th. Regardless of weekends or weekdays, LG sells out 23,750 seats whenever they play at Jamsil.

LG already set a record for the first time since the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) computerized attendance in 2001 with three consecutive sellouts for the season opener against Hanwha on the 25th of last month. The sellout on that day extended the new record to seven consecutive games. During these seven games, a remarkable 166,250 fans visited Jamsil, showcasing LG's incredible ticket power.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yeop expressed gratitude on behalf of the team to the fans, stating, “We were able to win thanks to the support of the fans who filled Jamsil Baseball Stadium today and created a full house. Thank you.”

After a day of rest, LG will face the Kiwoom Heroes in a three-game series starting on the 8th at Gocheok.
