Lee Kang-in (24, Paris Saint-Germain) lifted the championship trophy once again on the French stage. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) confirmed its early victory in Ligue 1, and Lee has now embraced his fifth trophy with the team.

PSG defeated Angers 1-0 in the 28th round of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 home match held at Parc des Princes in Paris, France, on the 6th (Korea time).

With this victory, PSG recorded 74 points (22 wins, 6 draws) and extended its lead over second-place AS Monaco to 22 points. No matter the outcomes of the remaining six matches, PSG has secured its fourth consecutive league title and its 13th overall.

PSG dominated the match. Although managing to score only one goal was disappointing, it was enough to secure the win. In the 55th minute, Désiré Doué scored the decisive goal. After a ball cleared by the Angers defense was picked up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Doué finished with a right-footed shot following his run.

Head coach Luis Enrique provided rest to some key players in this match. This was a measure taken considering the Champions League schedule. Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, and João Neves were left off the roster. Lee Kang-in also missed the match. He has been focusing on recovery since injuring his ankle in the A-match against Oman last month. Although he returned to team training, he avoided a strenuous appearance.

With this victory, Lee Kang-in has lifted five trophies solely with PSG. Since joining the team in the 2023-2024 season, he has won Ligue 1, the French Super Cup (Trophée des Champions), and the Coupe de France, and he added the Ligue 1 and the French Super Cup trophies this season.

He has been proving his value by experiencing victory every season since his transfer to PSG.

He also had championship experiences before PSG. During his time at Valencia, Lee won the Copa del Rey in the 2018-2019 season.

He has also achieved remarkable results with the national team. Lee won a gold medal as part of the South Korean U-23 team led by coach Hwang Sun-hong at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. He also received military service benefits.

Now PSG is aiming for even greater goals. If they maintain their unbeaten streak in the remaining league schedule, they will set a remarkable record for an unbeaten championship. With the finals of the Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals still ahead, PSG also has the possibility of a quadruple, winning the league, Coupe de France, Champions League, and Super Cup.
