Jeonbuk Hyundai has come alive.

Jeonbuk won 2-0 against Daejeon Hana Citizen in the 'Hana Bank K League 1 2025' Round 7 away match at Daejeon World Cup Stadium on the afternoon of the 5th, led by Jeon Jin-woo's third goal of the season. Having won against Anyang FC (1-0) just before this match, Jeonbuk marked two consecutive victories and reached 11 points (3 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses), rising to the upper ranks.

Since the victory against Gimcheon Sangmu in the opening match, Jeonbuk had been somewhat sluggish with 2 draws and 2 losses in the following four league matches. They drew 2-2 against Gwangju FC, lost 0-1 to Ulsan Hyundai, lost 0-1 to Gangwon FC, and drew 2-2 with Pohang Steelers. In addition, they also lost 2-5 on aggregate in the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League against Sydney FC.

Jeonbuk deployed Hernandez, Compaño, Jeon Jin-woo, Kim Jin-kyu, Kang Sang-yoon, Kim Tae-hyun, Park Jin-seop, Hong Jung-ho, Kim Young-bin, and Kim Tae-hwan. Song Bum-keun was positioned in goal. Still, Jeonbuk, which secured a 1-0 victory in the away match against Anyang in their first game after the international break, showed good form against the league leaders, Daejeon.

From the start of the match, Jeonbuk displayed a good performance, slowly attacking the opponent through calm buildup. Daejeon countered, leading to an exchange of attacks between the two teams. Both teams showed some rough play, but the first half ended in a 0-0 draw.

As the second half began, Daejeon substituted Yoon Do-young for Jeong Jae-hee. However, Jeonbuk took the lead instead. In the 2nd minute of the second half, Jeon Jin-woo received a pass from Kang Sang-yoon and brilliantly finished with a chip shot over the opposing goalkeeper, giving Jeonbuk a valuable opening goal at 1-0.

After gaining momentum, in the 17th minute of the second half, Jeonbuk substituted Compaño and Hernandez for Thiago and Song Min-kyu. The relentless offensive of Daejeon in search of an equalizer continued. Jeonbuk countered with stable play and began a back-and-forth exchange of attacks.

Then, in the 44th minute of the second half, Jeon Byeong-gwan, who was substituted in, scored a decisive goal. Jeon Byeong-gwan, who is set to enlist, drew significant attention by celebrating in front of the fans of Daejeon, the team where he made his professional debut. The match concluded with a 2-0 victory for Jeonbuk.
