Although it is only 3 days, uncomfortable cohabitation and temporary living must be endured. It is unfortunate but unavoidable, a consequence of a tragic accident. NC Dinos and Lotte Giants have a mountain of tasks ahead of them.

On April 4, the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) made an unprecedented decision. It announced that the matchup between NC and Lotte, scheduled to be held at Changwon NC Park from April 11 to 13, would take place at Busan Sajik Stadium instead. The home and away will not change.

It is due to the tragic accident that occurred on March 29 during the game between LG Twins and NC Dinos at Changwon NC Park. An aluminum louver structure fell from the 4th floor of the stadium’s outer wall, hitting the roof of a snack bar located on the first floor’s third base side and striking a spectator who was waiting in line for snacks. As a result of the accident, a woman in her 20s suffered severe head injuries, and her teenage sister, who was related to her, suffered a fractured collarbone. Ultimately, the victim in her 20s underwent surgery and was moved to the intensive care unit, but she passed away on March 31. All members of professional baseball, including the NC team, were saddened by this tragic accident that should not have happened. The game between LG and NC was canceled the day after the accident, on March 30, and upon hearing the news of the victim's death, the KBO canceled all games at five stadiums on April 1. A period of mourning was declared until April 3. Players who heard the news were also at a loss for words due to the tragic accident and expressed their heartfelt condolences for the victims.

In addition to the game scheduled to be held at Changwon NC Park on March 30, the games against SSG on April 1-3 were also canceled. Following the accident, NC searched for a company to conduct an emergency safety inspection and began a detailed safety check on April 1. An investigation was conducted on all 231 louvers responsible for the accident, as well as a thorough check of the overall state of cracks and deformations in external and internal structures.

Since this accident resulted in a loss of life, a thorough and meticulous safety inspection must be conducted regardless of how long it takes. At this point, it is uncertain when the safety inspection will be completed. The schedule is already affected. However, it is unavoidable. All members of the league must endure the current discomfort. NC and Lotte, the 'rivals in the Nakdong River,' are now facing this unprecedented situation together. NC will be taking temporary residence at Lotte's home stadium, Sajik Stadium, for 3 days. Since the home stadium is changed, all operational matters related to the games will be discussed and managed by NC and Lotte together. There is a mountain of tasks to address.

For ticket revenue, it will be settled according to the original distribution ratio. NC will receive 72% of the ticket revenue as the home team at Sajik Stadium. Conversely, although Lotte uses Sajik Stadium as their home, on this day, they will receive 28% of the ticket revenue as the away team.

During the three-game series, security and operational personnel will all be the responsibility of the home team. However, since NC will not be playing in Changwon, they cannot bring their existing security company and personnel. Ultimately, Lotte will hire security and operational personnel as they would for a regular home game. All related expenses will be agreed upon for post-calculation between NC and Lotte.

However, aside from the changes regarding the home stadium, ticket revenue distribution, and operational expenses for the three-game series, no other matters have been decided. On April 4 in the afternoon, NC's marketing team visited Sajik Stadium and held a meeting with Lotte's marketing team regarding the operation of the three-game series.

In addition, NC is repeatedly holding meetings regarding the operation of the three-game series at Sajik. They need to discuss compensation plans for season ticket purchasers, ticket pricing and reservations, advertising rights contracts at the NC Park stadium, and the operation of food and beverage outlets within the stadium. Since it has just been decided that the three-game series will be held at Sajik, all situations need to be newly determined and communicated.

However, the ticket reservation process is entirely dependent on Lotte. Currently, the 10 clubs are not linked through an integrated reservation system. Six clubs, including SSG, LG, KT, KIA, Samsung, and Hanwha, process reservations through Ticket Link, while the two clubs, Doosan and Kiwoom, use Interpark for reservations. Coincidentally, NC and Lotte are the only teams that are establishing their independent reservation systems. NC also has no choice but to follow Lotte’s wishes regarding the situation related to ticket reservations.

On April 4, NC announced through social media the reservation method and period for the three-game series scheduled for April 11-13. NC stated, 'Reservations will begin on April 7 at 2 p.m. and can be made through the Lotte Giants website or app,' and noted that 'the ticket purchase and entry policies will follow the Lotte Giants' policies. We ask for your understanding that season ticket and mint membership pre-reservations are not possible. NC's dugout will be on the third base side.'

Regarding the stadium advertising rights, discussions are required for payment adjustments with existing contracts and new settlements. There are set advertising fees as with home stadium games, but since there are existing advertising contractors at Sajik Stadium, discussions with Lotte are necessary for this part as well. It will need to be decided whether to create new advertisements with companies contracted by NC or to keep the existing advertisements placed at Sajik Stadium. Ultimately, this structure will need to adhere to Lotte's opinions.

While many issues are piling up, it is likely that NC's home games will be conducted under the management of Lotte, which will operate the stadium on commission. Although it is NC's home game, it will not feel like a home game. Lotte will also play at their home stadium, but under the bizarre circumstance of having to play as the away team.
