Manchester United (Man U) is preparing for the possibility of parting ways with a striker from its academies.

Under the direction of coach Ruben Amorim, Man U is preparing for a major squad overhaul this summer. With more focus likely on strengthening the attacking line, the possibility of Alejandro Garnacho (21) leaving the club is emerging.

According to Spain's 'Fichajes', Napoli of Italy's Serie A is showing interest in Garnacho. Napoli had also shown interest in Garnacho during the January transfer window, along with Chelsea.

Man U views Garnacho, whose contract expires in 2028, as an academy product who can purely generate revenue for the club in terms of the Premier League's profitability and sustainability regulations.

Napoli is reportedly preparing to offer £67 million (approximately 128.4 billion won) to Man U for Garnacho's transfer. Although Garnacho has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in 29 league matches this season, Napoli believes he has greater potential for future growth.

If Garnacho is sent away, Man U's alternatives are not limited to wingers but can also include players suitable for attacking midfield, according to coach Amorim's preferences.

The top candidate being considered is Eberechi Eze (27, Crystal Palace), who is also under continuous interest from Tottenham. Eze's transfer fee is set at £60 million (approximately 115 billion won).

Eze has scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists in 25 league matches this season. Eze's transfer fee can be covered by Garnacho's value, and if divided into a 5-year contract, it can provide advantages from both PSR and financial perspectives.

The next candidate is Xavi Simons (22, RB Leipzig). Simons was loaned from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Leipzig in 2023 and completed a permanent transfer for £42 million (approximately 80.5 billion won) in January of this year.

The Netherlands representative Simons has recorded 7 goals and 5 assists in 19 league matches this season. Not only Man U but also Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are closely monitoring the forward.

Simons' transfer fee is expected to be £60 million or more. This means it could be similar to or more expensive than Eze. At only 21 years old, there are high expectations for future growth. He is seen as a long-term investment worth considering.

Man U is weighing two candidates. However, given that Eze has played alongside Man U players such as Harry Maguire and Kobie Mainoo in the England national team, he is viewed more favorably.
