On the 29th of last month, a 20-year-old female fan died due to a falling fixture accident at Changwon NC Park. However, the Changwon Facilities Corporation appears to be eager to evade responsibility.

The Changwon Facilities Corporation announced on the 1st that it would work closely with the NC team regarding the accident in which a spectator lost their life at Changwon NC Park to ensure swift accident recovery and to come up with measures to prevent a recurrence.

The corporation expressed deep condolences to those who lost their lives due to the sudden accident at the baseball stadium and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

This accident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on the 29th of last month when a fixture (aluminum louver) installed for exterior purposes near the window of the 4th-floor office of Changwon NC Park fell, resulting in three injuries.

The corporation stated, "Immediately after the accident, we established a task force and held an on-site task meeting at the Masan Baseball Center office at 6:15 p.m. with department heads related to safety present to discuss future measures."

It added, "We also held related meetings on the 30th and 31st to investigate the cause of the accident, including measures for recovery and prevention of recurrence."

Despite the tragedy of a 20-year-old female fan ending her life, the attitude of the Changwon Facilities Corporation was nothing but an attempt to evade responsibility.

The corporation explained, "According to the usage and revenue permit contract, the daily maintenance and operation of Changwon NC Park is the responsibility of the NC side, while the corporation only undertakes major structural repairs."

It also added, "The corporation has legally conducted all necessary safety checks on major structural components, and no abnormalities have been found so far. In particular, the fallen fixture was not included in the inspection targets."

The corporation stated, "Accordingly, we have urgently asked the NC team to check and confirm if there are any damages to fixtures such as signs and windows similar to the area where the accident occurred and to notify us of the results." This gives the impression of merely watching the fire across the river.

Lee Kyung-kyun, acting chairman of the corporation, said, "Once again, I express my sincere condolences to the deceased and will do my best to ensure all safety measures and prevent similar accidents in the future." However, it was just a mundane statement with no specific details.

Each time the corporation faced unfavorable questions from the press, it repeatedly responded, "It is a matter under police investigation, so it is difficult to answer."
