The Korea Baseball Softball Association (President Yang Hae-young) is hosting the 2025 Shinsegae Emart National High School Baseball Tournament, with sponsorship from Shinsegae Emart and the city of Miryang.

On this day, nine teams, including Mulgeum High School, Cheongwon High School, Seokwang High School, Yatap High School, Seoul High School, Gwangju Jeil High School, Seoul Dongsan High School, and Seongnam High School, secured their spots in the top 32 with victories. However, last year's runner-up Jeonju High School was eliminated in the second round, leaving a sense of regret.

Seokwang High School defeated last year's runner-up Jeonju High School 7-1, securing a place in the top 32. In the early stages of the game, both teams engaged in a tight scouting battle; however, Seokwang High School took the lead in the third inning and added three runs in the sixth to seize momentum. Starting pitcher Kim Tae-eon put in a stable performance, throwing seven innings with three hits, no runs, and six strikeouts, effectively neutralizing Jeonju High School's offense, while Kim Yo-seop and Lee Hong-seok each hit home runs, showcasing their batting prowess.

Mulgeum High School, seeking redemption after being eliminated in the second round last year, defeated Daejeon Jeil High School 8-4 to join the top 32. Starting pitcher Nam Hae-dam had a strong performance, allowing just one hit and no runs in four innings, with one walk, one hit batter, and three strikeouts, and the lineup exploded with seven runs in the fifth inning.

Yatap High School achieved a 13-1 cold-game victory against Uiwang BC (U-18). Designated hitter Choi Min-young excelled with two hits in two at-bats, two RBIs, two runs, and two stolen bases, leading the team to the top 32.

Seoul High School secured its spot in the top 32 with a 4-0 victory over Daegu Sangwon High School. Pitcher Kim Ji-woo, who came in with no outs and a runner on second base in the fifth inning, threw 2.2 innings with two hits, no runs, and three strikeouts, effectively shutting down the opposing lineup. Second baseman Lee Si-won shone on both defense and offense, going three for four with two runs and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, on the second day of the tournament, which is the eighth day, Jangchung High School, Busan High School, Gangneung High School, and Gaeseong High School aim for a spot in the top 32. Among them, the match between Jangchung High School and Busan High School, which both reached the top 32 last year, has emerged as a major point of interest. All games will be broadcast live on the official YouTube channel of the Korea Baseball Softball Association.
