Jumin-kyu saved the team by scoring against his former club.
The Daejeon team, led by coach Hwang Sun-hong, won 3-2 against Ulsan in an away match held at Ulsan Munsoo Stadium on the 1st, thanks to consecutive goals from Shin Sang-eun, Kim Hyun-wook, and Jumin-kyu. With this victory, Daejeon extended their unbeaten streak to five matches (4 wins, 1 draw) and surged to the top with 16 points. Ulsan fell into crisis with three consecutive winless matches (1 draw, 2 losses).
In the early stages of the game, Shin Sang-eun broke the deadlock. In the 3rd minute of the first half, receiving a skillful penetrating pass from Yoon Do-young, Shin Sang-eun calmly finished to score the opening goal. He also induced a penalty kick in the 8th minute of the first half with a fantastic movement. Kim Hyun-wook calmly finished this, making it 2-0.
Ulsan, however, did not crumble easily. In the 41st minute of the first half, Ulsan's Park Min-seo struck a stunning left-foot shot from the penalty arc straight into the right corner to score a goal back. Additionally, in stoppage time of the first half, Lee Hee-kyun finished off a deflected ball in the penalty area with a bold left-footed shot to equalize.
In a fiercely contested situation, Jumin-kyu, who joined Daejeon in this transfer market from Ulsan, finally put a period on it. In the 63rd minute, during a throw-in situation for Daejeon, a header connection from Anton and Jeong Jae-hee found Jumin-kyu, who trapped the ball with his head before finishing with a right-foot shot to score the decisive goal.
Since it was the team he played for until last season, Jumin-kyu minimized his celebration. This goal marked his 6th goal of the season (1st) and gave him a three-goal lead over the joint 2nd place scorers. Daejeon managed to hold on to this goal until the end to win 3-2, maintaining their unbeaten streak.
