The professional baseball team KT Wiz (CEO Lee Ho-sik) announced that it successfully concluded its 2025 spring camp held in Geelong, Australia, and Okinawa, Japan, on 5th.
From Jan. 26, the first camp held in Geelong, Australia, focused on personalized training to strengthen depth.
During the 39-day camp period, seven practice games were held with professional teams including the Melbourne Aces, Hanwha Eagles, Samsung Lions, LG Twins, KIA Tigers, and SSG Landers to refine tactics and check game readiness.
Outfielder Kim Min-hyuk, who showed a diligent training attitude and performed well in practice games, was selected as the MVP of the spring camp. Outstanding pitcher Kim Dong-hyun and outstanding hitter Yoon Jun-hyuk received awards.
Manager Lee Kang-cheol, after completing the camp, noted, "Both the first and second camps were completed as planned without injuries in good weather and environment. All players were well prepared, focusing on off-season training and conditioning, leading to high concentration during camp."
He also said, "Veteran players created a good training atmosphere, and young players also showed noticeable growth. The coaching staff, club front office, and field personnel worked hard as well. After returning to Korea, we will elevate our game readiness through training and exhibition games leading up to the opening match."
Captain Jang Sung-woo stated, "The goal was for all players to complete the camp without injuries, and thanks to well-equipped training facilities and warm weather, we can approach the exhibition games in good condition."
KT evaluated its training efficiency by establishing a separate practice field near the Okinawa accommodation, dividing training into two groups: the training team and the game team. Jang Sung-woo thanked the manager and coaching staff for creating a good atmosphere and expressed gratitude to his junior players for following along well.
The MVP, Kim Min-hyuk, said, "I focused on conditioning management throughout the camp period to prepare my body for the exhibition games. I'm satisfied that my skills have improved. I thank the managers and coaches for selecting me as the camp MVP, and I will prepare well to show 100% of my abilities from the opening match."
Meanwhile, the KT players will return to Korea on the 6th at 3:20 p.m. via flight OZ 172.
