The pre-arrest interrogation of former Unification Church Deputy Minister Yoon Young-ho, requested by the special prosecutor, will be held on the 30th. Yoon is accused of delivering a luxury handbag to Kim Keon-hee.
According to the legal community on the 28th, the substantive examination of the warrant for former Deputy Minister Yoon, who is facing allegations of violating political funding laws, will take place at the Seoul Central District Court at 10:30 a.m. on the 30th.
Earlier, on the 25th, the special prosecutor requested an arrest warrant for former Deputy Minister Yoon.
Former Deputy Minister Yoon is accused of delivering two Chanel bags worth 20 million won, as well as a Graff diamond necklace valued at around 60 million won and Cheonsusam extract, to Jeon Sung-bae, with the intent to solicit issues related to the Unification Church from Kim Keon-hee between April and June 2022.
Specifically, former Deputy Minister Yoon is at the center of allegations that he solicited issues through Jeon concerning the development of land along the Mekong River in Cambodia, the acquisition of YTN, and invitations to presidential inauguration ceremonies.
The Unification Church claims that these allegations are 'a personal deviation' committed by former Deputy Minister Yoon. However, the special prosecutor is reportedly investigating the possibility that Yoon's actions were part of an organized attempt to solicit favors at the church level.
