The special prosecutor for Kim Keon-hee announced on the 18th that they are searching the National Intelligence Service. The special prosecutor plans to verify the process by which former prosecutor Kim Sang-min was appointed as a legal advisor to the National Intelligence Service in relation to allegations of intervention in her nomination.
On the same day, the special prosecutor was reported to be securing documents related to the appointment of former prosecutor Kim, having searched the National Intelligence Service since the morning. The special prosecutor is currently requesting materials through voluntary submission.
Kim Keon-hee is suspected of having exerted influence to allow former prosecutor Kim to run in the Changwon constituency during last year's general election. There are also allegations that Kim Keon-hee might have influenced the appointment process of the legal advisor to the National Intelligence Service after the former prosecutor was eliminated from the nomination.
