During the personnel hearing held by the Public Administration and Security Committee of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 18th, the nominee Yoon said, "I will ensure that local governments operate efficiently through bold fiscal decentralization," and made this statement.
The nominee Yoon said, "I am paying attention to the problems arising from implementing policies uniformly despite differences in fluctuations of real estate prices by region and timing."
Yoon stated that there needs to be changes in the operation method of funds to prevent local extinction. He mentioned, "The local extinction fund established and operated in 2022 has been used for projects aimed at showing off the local government heads rather than practical projects to overcome population extinction in those areas," and expressed the desire to seek changes so that projects capable of increasing the resident population or living population that can lead to investment are prioritized.
