The Special Investigation Team related to insurrection is reportedly investigating Lee Seung-oh, the head of the Operations Headquarters of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Lieutenant General), regarding the allegations of 'Pyongyang drone deployment' as of the 17th.
According to the legal community, the Special Investigation Team summoned Lieutenant General Lee in the afternoon to conduct an investigation. It is reported that the team is investigating the execution process and reporting protocols of the drone operations.
The Special Investigation Team is probing whether former President Yoon Suk-yeol directed the drone company to deploy drones in Pyongyang around October last year to create a justification for declaring a state of emergency. In this regard, it is reported that they have secured recordings of active-duty officers indicating that former President Yoon directly instructed the drone company to prepare for the deployment of drones in Pyongyang, bypassing the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff in October-November last year.
Additionally, the Special Investigation Team is reportedly investigating allegations that the drone company attempted to provoke North Korea by intentionally modifying drones with leaflets, despite being aware of the possibility of the drones crashing.
The Special Investigation Team’s search and seizure of 24 military-related locations, including the drone company in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, the Ministry of National Defense, the Defense Security Command, the Defense Intelligence Command, the Baengnyeongdo Unit, and the Army Ground Operations Command on the 14th, is interpreted as part of this 'foreign currency investigation.'
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team summoned Kim Yong-dae, the Commander of the Drone Operations, for investigation on the morning of the same day.
