A man in his 20s is under police investigation after he captured a stray cat on a road in Shinheung-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, and then struck it with his bare hands and stomped on it several times while trapping it in a safety cone (rubber cone).
On the 17th, the Incheon Central Police Station announced plans to investigate Mr. A, who was reported by the animal protection organization Animal Freedom Alliance for violations of the Animal Protection Act.
Footage from a nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV), secured by Animal Freedom Alliance, shows Mr. A abusing the stray cat. The video also captures Mr. A igniting the rubber cone with the cat inside and dragging the fallen cat to another location.
The police confirmed through CCTV footage analysis that the unidentified person reported by Animal Freedom Alliance was Mr. A. The remains of a stray cat were also found in a flower bed near the abuse scene.
