Regarding this general strike, the KCTU stated that it is a decision to ensure the basic labor rights of all workers and to address social inequalities, adding that 'the Lee Jae-myung government must eradicate the anti-labor legacy left by the Yoon Suk-yeol administration and engage in labor-government negotiations.'
The KCTU is demanding the immediate amendment of Articles 2 and 3 of the Labor Union Act (Yellow Envelope Law) and the complete abolition of the anti-labor policies of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration.
Following this day, the KCTU plans to carry out a general strike and all-out struggle march in front of Sungnyemun in Jung-gu, Seoul, at 3 p.m. on the 19th.
