On the 15th, the special prosecutor for the rebellion said that former President Yoon Suk-yeol is resisting the second attempt at compulsory summons, stating, "The special prosecutor evaluates that the suspect Yoon Suk-yeol is refusing to cooperate with the investigation itself."
On that day, special prosecutor Park Ji-young stated in a briefing, "I sent an official document ordering the enforcement of the summons for former President Yoon by 2 p.m. on the 15th on the 14th," adding, "However, the legal team for former President Yoon did not express any intention to the special prosecutor."
Former President Yoon has been refusing the special prosecutor's attendance request, citing health reasons, since being imprisoned on the 10th. The special prosecutor deemed the reasons for his noncompliance unacceptable and attempted a first compulsory summons on the 14th, but former President Yoon rejected it.
Park, the special prosecutor, said, "This morning, I investigated the reasons why the compulsory summons did not proceed correctly against the correctional officers at Seoul Detention Center," adding, "(the special prosecutor) issued the summons order, and whether or not it will be implemented depends on the correctional officers." He continued, "If the Seoul Detention Center does not comply, we will take serious measures to hold them accountable."
In response to a journalist's question on whether the special prosecutor could mobilize physical force if former President Yoon continues to refuse the attendance request, Park said, "There are legal precedents that recognize the use of force for enforcement," adding, "I will only say this much."
In response, when journalists asked, "Does the special prosecutor's request for cooperation from the detention center imply mobilizing physical force for (the compulsory summons of former President Yoon)?" Park replied, "It means to take all possible measures they can."
