Group 'Koyote' member Shin Ji expressed displeasure over a comment mentioning inheritance issues related to her fiancé Moon Won, ahead of their wedding.
Recently, Shin Ji posted on her social media service (SNS), "I was happy to be able to be a guest at the first concert of Miss Trot today with my juniors." He shared updates by posting a waiting room photo with fellow Koyote members Kim Jong Min and Baek Ga.
In response to this post, an internet user left a comment stating, "Shin Ji, be sure to sign a marital property agreement so that your hard-earned money does not go to Moon Won's daughter, who is related by no blood relation."
To this, Shin Ji replied, "That will not happen, and I kindly decline comments unrelated to my feed."
In response to another comment from an internet user asking, "Are you really going to get married?" Shin Ji replied, "I kindly decline comments unrelated to my feed."
'Marital property agreement' is a system that establishes ownership and management methods of property before marriage. To have legal effect, it must be registered before the marriage registration.
Attorney Lee Ji Hoon emphasized on his YouTube channel 'Knowing Lawyer', "Shin Ji spoke publicly, so I am also sharing this publicly. There are those who think about marriage without regard to the law, but that is problematic. I mentioned the marital property agreement; this is a system specified by law. A marital property agreement must be signed before marriage."
He further advised, "You must disclose all property matters and write them in documents, stating that property acquired before marriage is considered separate property and that it will not be subject to property division later. You should also agree in advance on issues regarding custody and visitation rights for children from previous marriages."
Additionally, he suggested, "For the happiness of both parties, it would be good to consult with a lawyer specializing in marital property agreements and to take marriage classes. Since this is a marriage at the age of 40 rather than in your 20s, it should be prepared carefully, and necessary legal arrangements should be made."
When an internet user reacted, asking, "Is this trying to prevent marriage?" the attorney explained, "It is not about preventing marriage; it is to empower those in similar situations as Shin Ji to think more critically."
Shin Ji is expected to hold her wedding with Moon Won in the first half of next year. However, after the wedding announcement, suspicions arose regarding Moon Won's past marriage, including allegations of infidelity, illegal real estate sales, and being accused of bullying during military service.
Moon Won acknowledged that he married due to a premarital pregnancy with his ex-wife, but denied the allegations of infidelity. He submitted a divorce agreement to Shin Ji's agency to clarify this and reached out directly to school friends and acquaintances from military service.
