On the 10th, former President Yoon Suk-yeol was moved to a two-pyeong solitary confinement cell in Seoul Detention Center.
According to the legal community that day, after the hearing for the suspect prior to his arrest (a substantive warrant review) the day before, former President Yoon, who had been staying in the living room for colocated suspects, entered the general detention area after completing his meeting with his lawyer and having dinner in the afternoon.
Former President Yoon's inmate number was reported to be '3617'. After receiving his inmate number, former President Yoon underwent a detailed physical examination to confirm his height and weight, then changed into a khaki mixed-material inmate uniform before going through the procedure of taking a 'mug shot.'
Former President Yoon, who was moved to the detention area, was placed in a two-pyeong solitary confinement cell previously used by one inmate. In contrast, previous presidents such as Park Geun-hye and Lee Myung-bak were detained in three-pyeong detention rooms, but due to overcrowding issues, it seems that former President Yoon was assigned to a somewhat smaller solitary cell.
The general detention area room does not have air conditioning, only a fan. The fan is adjustable in strength from 1 to 4, but for fire prevention, it operates for 50 minutes and then turns off for 10 minutes. Inside the room where former President Yoon is, it is reported that there are shelves, a TV, a desk that also serves as a dining table, dishes, and a toilet, except for a sink. The TV can access recorded broadcasts from four channels: KBS1, SBS, MBC, EBS1, as well as some live broadcasts at certain times.
There is no bed, and the inmate has to lay a blanket on the floor when sleeping. An electric panel for insulation is installed on the floor.
Showers must be taken in a communal shower room. However, former President Yoon will use it at a time that does not overlap with other inmates. Exercise is also limited to within one hour. Considering his status as a former president, it is said that his movements and times will be coordinated to avoid overlapping with other inmates.
The lunch menu for former President Yoon on that day included doenjang-jjigae (soybean paste stew), steamed eggs, cucumber and onion salad, and baechu kimchi (napa cabbage kimchi). The dinner menu consisted of bean sprout soup, gochujang bulgogi (spicy marinated beef), peppers, ssamjang (a dipping sauce), and baechu kimchi.
