Tropical nights have occurred for the 9th day in Seoul. The highest temperature in Seoul is forecasted to reach 36 degrees on the afternoon of the 8th.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the lowest nighttime temperature in Seoul recorded from 6 p.m. the previous day to 9 a.m. that day was 26.9 degrees. Starting from the 29th of last month, there have been 9 consecutive nights until July 7 where the lowest nighttime temperature exceeded 25 degrees. When the nighttime temperature exceeds 25 degrees, it is recorded as a tropical night.
Gangneung, which has been experiencing tropical nights along with Seoul, recorded a lowest nighttime temperature of 24.9 degrees the previous night. Earlier, a 'super tropical night' occurred in Gangneung with a nighttime low exceeding 30 degrees on the night of the 6th. On the 1st and 2nd of this month, the nighttime low in Gangneung was also above 30 degrees.
In addition, tropical nights were observed in the capital region, including Yangpyeong and Icheon in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon. Tropical nights were also recorded in Wonju in Gangwon Province, Chungju in North Chungcheong Province, Daejeon, Jeonju in North Jeolla Province, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, and Jeju.
The highest temperature during the day is forecasted to be between 27 and 36 degrees. Seoul and Daejeon are expected to see temperatures rise to 36 degrees. Gwangju will have a maximum temperature of 35 degrees, Daegu will reach 34 degrees, Incheon will hit 33 degrees, while Ulsan and Busan will see temperatures of 31 degrees.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said, 'Most areas across the country will feel like around 35 degrees, and there will continue to be tropical nights, particularly in the western regions and Jeju.'
