The prosecution has detained a man in his 30s who appeared in the dating reality show 'I am Solo' on charges of sexual assault and has referred the case to court.
The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office stated on the 4th that they had arrested and indicted a man surnamed A on charges of attempted rape the previous day.
Mr. A is suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s around 3:30 a.m. on the 21st of last month in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo District. Attempted rape refers to charges applied to individuals who engaged in intercourse with someone who was incapacitated or unable to resist.
Mr. A is reported to have appeared in 'I am Solo' and 'I am Solo, After That Love Continues,' which are aired on SBS Plus and ENA. The police have urgently arrested Mr. A and received a detention warrant from the court on the 23rd of the same month.
Immediately after the incident, the production team of 'I am Solo' revealed, "We learned about the issuance of the court detention warrant related to Mr. A's criminal charges through news reports."
They also noted, "Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, we plan to take measures to ensure no discomfort for viewers during the broadcast," adding, "We will edit or delete the portions featuring Mr. A from previous broadcasts as much as possible." Subsequently, all segments with Mr. A were completely edited out of the broadcast aired on the 26th.
