As the Netflix original series "Squid Game" Season 3 gains popularity worldwide, there have been further indications of illegal viewing in China, where Netflix is not officially available.
On China's largest review site "Douban," over 21,000 reviews related to "Squid Game 3" that was released on the 27th of last month were registered as of the 3rd. It was recorded that approximately 55,000 people participated in the star rating evaluations.
Since Netflix is not officially serviced in China, it appears that local users illegally watched "Squid Game 3" and left reviews.
Seong Kyung-deok, a professor at Sungshin Women's University, pointed out on the 4th through his social media, "It has become commonplace for illegal viewing in China," and noted, "The attitude of having no shame is very regrettable." He urged, "The Chinese authorities should now take action to intensively crack down on their citizens' illegal activities."
Previously, illegal distribution and unauthorized viewing issues arose regarding the first and second seasons of "Squid Game" in China.
