An incident occurred in which a South Korean tourist drowned at a resort in Nha Trang, a popular destination in Vietnam, with the family expressing strong regrets about the resort's response and claiming delays in rescue efforts and evasion of responsibility.
On the 27th, a post titled "My family died due to the resort's negligence during their trip to Nha Trang" was published in a domestic travel community. The author, Ms. A, wrote, "If local people see this, I urgently request help," and added, "My sister's husband drowned at the resort two days ago during a family trip. I heard this resort is quite popular in this area."
According to Ms. A, the accident occurred due to sudden high waves, and the victim was being carried away in the water for about 20 minutes, relying on a single tube. She claimed that the on-site safety personnel neglected the situation without proper rescue efforts. Even after spotting the victim late, they missed the golden time for treatment due to lack of professionalism during the rescue process, and the ambulance arrived long after cardiopulmonary resuscitation had started.
Ms. A expressed anger, stating, "The ambulance wasn't even called during the 30 minutes of cardiopulmonary resuscitation performed after moving him to the land, and the ambulance only arrived an hour after the accident." She added, "The resort is now ridiculously denying responsibility, saying, 'Wasn't he already having heart problems?'"
The family had to go as far as the police station to demand access to the CCTV, which the resort refused to provide, and they appealed that the local authorities were biased towards the resort and uncooperative in the investigation. They particularly noted, "The local authorities are thoroughly on the side of the resort. They distract the families with all sorts of wordplay and references to local laws, and they won't even let go of the evidence that the resort reluctantly provided. There is no relevance or meaning related to the death case, merely interrogating them with pointless questions that made me feel dizzy with disbelief regarding the local investigation."
Ms. A pleaded for help, saying, "A 4-year-old child witnessed his father's death, and since we must also hold my brother-in-law's funeral, the family cannot stay in Nha Trang for long, but I feel that we must at least grasp a clue for clarifying the truth to alleviate our family's grief somewhat."
