On the 30th, the special prosecutor for the insurrection noted, "An investigation is underway into former President Kang's Deputy Minister of the Secretary's Office."
Former Deputy Minister Kang is under suspicion of having drafted the minutes of the Cabinet meeting held just before the declaration of a state of emergency on Dec. 3 last year. The Cabinet meeting lasted only five minutes, yet the draft reportedly indicated that the meeting had gone on for 40 minutes before being amended. Earlier, the special investigation team stated it received testimony from officials at the Presidential Office and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety that "Former Deputy Minister Kang prepared the agenda items and reasons for the Cabinet meeting and sent them back to the ministry."
Former Deputy Minister Kang is a former prosecutor. He served as a secretary during the time when Yoon Suk-yeol was the Attorney General. He was appointed as the Deputy Minister of the Presidential Office when President Yoon took office.
