The police announced that they would conduct a complainant investigation this week regarding Jeong Jin-seok, the former Chief of Staff to the President, who is suspected of instructing the destruction of the presidential office's PCs.

A Seoul police department official stated at a regular press briefing on the 30th regarding the former chief's case, “We are verifying the facts. The complainant investigation is scheduled for July 2.” However, when asked about the ongoing investigation, he noted, “It is difficult to comment specifically.”

On the 7th, the civic group Participatory Solidarity for Abolishing Corruption filed a complaint with the Seoul police against the former chief of staff, Jeong, and the former Chief Secretary Yoon Jae-soon for ▲obstruction of authority exercise ▲interference with official duties by coercion ▲damage to public property. They allege that the former chief and others deliberately avoided the handover of presidential office tasks and illegally instructed the shredding of computers and other office equipment and materials, thereby obstructing the new administration's normal governance operations.

In response, officials from the Yoon Suk-yeol administration stated that they took legal action regarding the maintenance of PCs in accordance with relevant laws.

The police also announced that some employees of the Seoul police department were dispatched for the special investigation into insurrection.

A police official also reported that they are coordinating the investigation schedule for Son Hyo-sook, the representative of 'Rebox School,' which is embroiled in allegations of comment manipulation during the 21st presidential election. The official stated that they are continuously conducting forensics on electronic devices such as mobile phones and that the schedule for the suspect's investigation is being coordinated.

Meanwhile, the police stated that the investigation into comedian Lee Kyung-kyu, who is suspected of driving after consuming drugs, is in its final stages. A police official noted, “We have video evidence, witness statements, results from the National Forensic Service, and contents from the suspect's interrogation, and we plan to reach a conclusion based on this.”
