YouTuber Karakula (real name Lee Se-wook), who was convicted in connection with extorting tens of millions of won from YouTuber Tzuyang, has returned to YouTube after about a year off.
On the 27th, Karakula posted a video titled 'It's been a while, greetings. This is Karakula' on his YouTube channel, announcing his official return to activity.
In the video, he said, 'I sincerely apologize to many people for causing great controversy and public outrage,' adding, 'Everything that happened was due to my deficiencies and lack of qualities.' He described himself as a 'fool,' further stating, 'Being aware of my high recognition, I crossed boundaries and ultimately faced repercussions.'
He also stated, 'Given the countless allegations and falsehoods surrounding me, I won’t clumsily clarify what is true and what is false.' He then noted, 'I will show my reflection on past mistakes not just through a few words but through actions.'
At the end of the video, Karakula was seen leaving in a car with a phrase indicating pet rescue. Additionally, he hinted at a possible shift in content direction towards animal rescue activities by changing the channel name from 'Karakula Media' to 'Karakula Animal Rescue.'
He emphasized through a comment in the video that 'channel revenue is currently at a standstill, and I will not operate a donation account.'
Previously, Karakula was indicted for complicity in extorting YouTuber Tzuyang, sentenced in February this year to one year in prison with a three-year probation and 240 hours of community service. At that time, YouTube had suspended revenue generation for him and many other 'cyber wreckers.'
