Kwon Chang-jun (56·photo) is regarded as an expert who has experience in the fields of labor and employment as well as planning, serving as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

Hailing from Yecheon, North Gyeongsang Province, Vice Minister Kwon graduated from Yonsei University's Department of Public Administration and obtained a master's degree from Michigan State University and a doctorate in law from Dankook University. He began his public service career after passing the 40th National Public Service Examination.

He has previously worked as an administrative officer in the Employment and Labor Secretary's Office under the Blue House during the early Moon Jae-in administration. He devised policies to address youth employment issues while serving as the Youth Employment Policy Officer of the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and he led labor reform efforts, including the introduction of union accounting disclosures, as the first Director General of the newly established Labor Reform Policy Office under the Yoon Suk-yeol administration. Since February of this year, he has served as the Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, engaging in communication with the National Assembly until recently.

He has also served as a standing member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Labor Commission, earning a reputation for being adept at communication with the labor sector. A ministry official noted, "He is an expert who has a broad background in labor, employment, and planning."

The presidential office stated about Vice Minister Kwon, "His strengths lie in actively conducting unprecedented large-scale survey interviews to improve labor conditions and forming a Labor Future Forum involving youth, making him an expert who can contribute to job creation through his expertise."
