Park Yong-in of Urban Zakapa, who caused controversy over false advertising for the 'butterless butter beer,' has received administrative sanctions for violating regulations during the sale of kimchi this time.
According to the National Food Safety Information Service on the 23rd, the kimchi brand 'Meaningful,' represented by Park Yong-in, has been found to violate the law regarding labeling and advertising of food products sold by Future Company, Inc.
'Meaningful' received administrative sanctions for incorrectly labeling the product manufacturing report number for aged kimchi sold on Naver shopping malls. The National Food Safety Information Service noted, "The product had incorrect labeling, and we have decided to issue a correction order according to the law on labeling and advertising of food products for corporations."
In response, Future Company stated, "The kimchi products currently being sold are produced entirely by Gongdlin Kimchi through a consignment production contract. We take full responsibility for manufacturing to shipping through this consignment production contract. The current issue is 100% the mistake of Gongdlin Kimchi, and we have completed changing the incorrectly entered product manufacturing report numbers of the affected products. We sincerely apologize for the trouble caused."
Previously, Park Yong-in was indicted without detention in December 2023 for violating the law on food labeling and advertising by selling beer without butter in the ingredients as 'butter beer,' and he was sentenced to 8 months in prison with a 2-year suspended sentence. As the representative of the corporation, Future Company also received a fine of 10 million won, and Park Yong-in submitted an appeal in February.
Park Yong-in debuted in 2009 as part of the mixed group Urban Zakapa and has been concurrently running a food and beverage business since 2020.
