Candidate Minister for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, Kang Seon-woo.

Lee Jae-myung's first Minister of Gender Equality and Family, Kang Sun-woo, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has begun preparations for the National Assembly's confirmation hearing.

According to the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and others on the 24th, Candidate Kang plans to set up an office in the Ima Building in Jongno District, Seoul, in preparation for the confirmation hearing.

Candidate Kang's confirmation hearing preparation team is expected to consist of about 10 members, including officials from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family's spokesperson office, planning and coordination office, and the member's office.

An official from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family noted, "Currently, we are in the stage of organizing the office, and it seems that the first day of work will be in 2 to 3 days."

Candidate Kang is expected to express his thoughts regarding the nomination when he starts work. In a statement he released the day before after being nominated as Minister of Gender Equality and Family, he said, "I will give hope to the beloved people that 'tomorrow will be better,' and I will turn that hope into a conviction called policy," adding, "I will do my best to ensure that the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family under Lee Jae-myung's government warmly embraces each citizen."
