The Air Force announced on the 23rd that it will recruit applicants for the 10th National Pilot program through the Air Force website from the 7th to the 20th of next month.
The National Pilot program, operational since 2007, was introduced to familiarize citizens with air defense missions and to highlight the performance and excellence of domestically produced aircraft. Selected participants will experience actual flight in the rear seat of T-50 or FA-50 aircraft.
Eligibility requirements include being a citizen of Korea aged 18 or older as of September 24, and the selection process will include document screening (August), interviews and health examinations (September), and flight environment adaptation training, ultimately selecting 4 candidates.
Selected national pilots will participate in the "Seoul International Aerospace and Defense Industry Exhibition (ADEX) 2025" event, taking place at Seoul Airport on October 18, where they will have the opportunity to experience flying. Additionally, they will receive the 'red scarf,' a symbol of the pilot’s status, from the Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
